Founded in 1891 in Springfield, Massachusetts, and now in our 5th generation of ownership, we continue to fulfill an important need to supply American industry.  Our headquarters, located at Stevens Street, includes 120,000 square feet of indoor processing where we specialize in sorting, segregating, cleaning , sizing, and packaging all grades with an emphasis on sound environmental controls and practices.  Additionally, we have several satellite facilities and affiliate scrap companies in Western MA – including an international scrap brokerage company – providing ancillary metal recycling services both nationally and internationally.

More than half our workforce has celebrated ten-year milestones with the company, and our managers are cross-trained on all key aspects of the business. We’re immensely proud of our team, and credit them with the fact that Joseph Freedman Co. has customers who have been doing business with us for more than 50 years.

The Joseph Freedman Co. operates a Springfield, Massachusetts facility on over 10 acres. Our 120,000 sq. ft. indoor ferrous facility and headquarters on Stevens Street maintain strict quality, security, and environmental controls. We provide services to the New England area.
